We will kick off October with an engaging and interactive panel featuring dyslexic youth from across North Carolina as they share their experiences in their own words. Panelists will talk openly about their journeys with dyslexia, the challenges they’ve faced, the emotions that can come with struggling to read and learn differently, the people and strategies that have supported them, and the moments that have helped them build confidence and recognize their strengths. The panel will be joined by Shannon McNamara, Associate Director of Connective Parenting and clinical social worker, who will help guide the conversation and offer insight into the emotional side of dyslexia, including confidence, frustration, self-advocacy, resilience, and the importance of feeling understood and supported.
