I have more than 30 years of experience in education, serving as a Reading Specialist, Literacy Coach, Instructional Support Specialist, Classroom Teacher, Graduate Instructor, Head Start School Readiness Coach, and Educational Consultant. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Literacy, with research interests in early literacy development, recognizing the early signs of dyslexia, and using assessment information to guide effective reading instruction. My passion for dyslexia awareness and advocacy comes from both my professional experiences supporting striving readers and my personal journey as a parent.

As a board member of Decoding Dyslexia North Carolina, I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with individuals with dyslexia, families, educators, researchers, and advocates who share a commitment to improving literacy outcomes. I believe that early identification, evidence-based instruction, and meaningful collaboration can make a lasting difference. Through education, advocacy, and community connections, I hope to help ensure that individuals with dyslexia receive the understanding, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.
