Noelle Sproul is a lawyer by training, practicing in the area of investment law, who came to dyslexia advocacy when her son was diagnosed at the age of six. In her family's more than twelve year journey navigating the public school system, she grew to understand the challenges that parents face in advocating for their children with learning differences. One of her most influential early experiences was attending a Peter Wright seminar, where she was able to apply her legal training to education advocacy for her son. Her most important advice to parents is to use the legal language of the applicable laws and ask public schools for a "free and appropriate public education."

As a board member of Decoding Dyslexia North Carolina, Noelle is committed to advancing community knowledge about dyslexia, dysgraphia and other common learning disabilities, promoting early identification and educating parents on the impact that identification can have on their child, and helping strengthen educational opportunities for students with dyslexia across North Carolina.
